"This is as good as it gets, huh?" Arthur grumbles as he looked Vladimir over wearily. He stares at the vampire wrapped tightly in an old robe, the hood drawn over his head.

"This is for vhen the sun rises," Vladimir tells him with a smirk. "I don't vant to find myself in a vulnerable position."

"We're going to be taking an underground train into Ivan's territory," (y/n) informs him with a smile. "And he has the UV blockers around his kingdom."

"Then I just vant to look cool," Vladimir replies with a smirk.

"You look like a creep," Arthur tells him. He hops into the small car provided for them by Roderich. "Take it off."

"Let me have some fun every once in a vhile," Vladimir protests as he follows him.

Mathias follows behind, grumbling to Lukas, "See? I'm not the only one here who likes to have fun."

"Your idea of fun is completely different," Lukas retorts as he helps (y/n) into the car before him. "Vladimir wants to be a child. You want to get drunk and destroy the world."

"I don't want to destroy the world," Mathias calls as Lukas sits next to (y/n)--who sits across from the loud Crusnik. "I want to change it. It's always been like that."

"You just want to be king of everything," Lukas mutters under his breath.

"Guys," (y/n) starts as the car drives away from the palace. "It's a fifteen minute drive to the underground trains."

"Can we please not have a catastrophic battle on the way there?" Arthur finishes for her. She sends him a sad look for she is the only one who remembers what he had said to her last night. "Don't look at me like that."

"(y/n) can do vhatever she vants," Vladimir calls as he ruffles Arthur's hair. "Don't be such a stick in the mud, Artie."

"Must I be the source of your entertainment?" Arthur grumbles more to himself than anything else. He folds his arms and sits back, glaring at everyone as per usual. "How are we getting on this 'underground train?'"

"You just need to know a vampire," Vladimir tells him with a smirk. "It's really not secure at all. I vill be tested and then you four vill act as my servants vhile ve're on the train. Ivan has his arms open to all vampires. It's a little creepy how secure he believes he is."

"It sounds fairly simple," (y/n) adds with a nod. "Well, we're almost there."

"The biggest issue will be getting out of that territory," Arthur murmurs. "Ivan hates letting people back out."

"Ivan is...an old acquaintance of mine," Vladimir tells them all quietly. "I bould like to visit him before ve go anyway."

"It's like he knows every vampire who has ever existed..." Arthur grumbles.

Mathias looks at Vladimir in silence for a bit. It's a little unnerving for the Crusnik to be so quiet. Lukas is quick to kick him, asking him lowly what he's thinking. "He and his brother look familiar," Mathias replies with a big smile. "That's all."

"No they don't," Lukas retorts quickly.

"How would you know? You've probably forgotten the others' names, right? Do you remember anyone besides Emil?"

    "Shut it, Dane," Lukas spits.

Mathias leans over excitedly to Arthur, nearly screaming, "He remembers my heritage! I'm so excited!"

The guards at the train pull Vladimir aside to test his blood. Of course he’s a vampire, they just have to make sure. Once they’re certain of his race, they let Vladimir as well as his “servants” on to board the underground train. It’s quite nice, really, much cleaner than the train they had taken to the vatican.

(y/n) sits in between Lukas and Arthur. She doesn’t notice the soft glare she is receiving from Mathias. It’s not like (y/n) would ever really care about that though. She stares at the blacked out window and leans against Lukas a bit, bringing her legs up to rest in Arthur’s lap. “How long is this ride?” she asks Vladimir softly.

He smirks back at her, his lone fang poking out from behind his thin lips. “Three days. Don’t vorry, Puiule, it won’t be as boring as the last train ride.” He winks at her and leans back. “Just sit back and take a nap. Things are going to be tough again vhen ve reach our destination. Ivan doesn’t slaughter humans...but he’d liked to.”

“We don’t have to worry about that at all, huh?” Mathias calls loudly as he leans back in his chair. “Lukas and I won’t let anything bad happen to any of you, ok? We’re all good. This’ll be fun. Lukas and I can bond again!”

“I’m not bonding with you, idiot,” Lukas grumbles as he glares at the other Crusnik. He hesitantly wraps an arm around (y/n), pulling her closer to himself than she already was. “Stay away from me.”

(y/n) chuckles nervously and gently pulls away from Lukas. She’s blushing slightly and doesn’t want Lukas to see. She turns back to Arthur and smiles nervously at him. “They make me uncomfortable sometimes,” she mumbles in his ear.

“They make me uncomfortable most of the time,” Arthur retorts. He smiles slightly at (y/n)’s giggling and looks her over. She must still love him like she did when they were children. That’s all he can hope for. “Hey,” he whispers to her after a while. “When we get the chance, I want to talk to you alone.”

“What about?” (y/n) replies just as quietly.

“Just a few things. They’re not life-threatening or anything like that,” Arthur replies as he pulls away. “I just have a few questions for you.”

“I believe you,” (y/n) replies as she leans more against him. “Three days of this fun, huh?” she jokes as she listens in on Lukas and Mathias’ bickering. They really are funny. She wonders if that’s what she and Arthur sometimes sound like. Or at least, if they had once sounded like that.

“Don’t keep reminding me,” Arthur grumbles as he plugs his ears.

It takes maybe three days of peaceful uneventfulness before the five find themselves in the land of the vampires. (y/n) still somehow feels safe though. Vladimir has told her before that the humans here are not hunted like the vampires are on the other side. On the contrary, the humans here are vital servants to the vampire nobles. At least they have no reason to fear being attacked by vampires simply for being human.

“Hey,” Mathias calls loudly as he trails behind everyone else. “Where are we going? I’m hungry.”

“Stop complaining,” Lukas grumbles. “No one wants to hear your voice anyway.”

    “So mean…”

Vladimir turns to the other four and smiles widely at them. “Allow me to bring you to Ivan personally. He loves to see old friends again. But...don’t...don’t make eye contact vith him, alright? I’ll explain a bit more vhen ve get out of the train station.”

“Vladimir has secrets to tell us,” (y/n) says happily. “I love it when he tells us new things.”

“You’re not offended by the fact that he’s keeping things from you?” Lukas asks her softly.

    “Well...Vladimir is a special case…” (y/n) tries to explain.

“We know he’s actually an old man,” Arthur adds quietly as he grows more and more weary of the other Methuselah around them. “So he has a lot to tell us. His memory comes and goes as it pleases. We don’t really mind anymore. We know he’d never lie to us and we know he’s not deliberately withholding information.”

“It’ll be like when you get your memory back,” (y/n) tells him happily. “We don’t expect you to tell us everything all at once.”

    “I...see…”

“Enough talking,” Vladimir hisses gently as they walk up the stairs and into the open. The sun shines brightly upon all of them through the protective shield that blocks all of the harsh UV rays that harm the vampires. Vladimir embraces the sunlight. It feels so good to have the light touch his sensitive skin again. “I vanted to tell you about Ivan a bit.”

“He’s the scariest vampire who’s ever lived,” Arthur grumbles. “We know that already.”

“That’s not vhat I vas going to say,” Vladimir murmurs. “Did I ever tell you that sometimes vampires are born vith...special abilities? It’s like vhen you humans are born as prodigies. Some vampires have certain capabilities exceeding others. I’m one of them. I can access black magic on the highest level. That’s vhy I can teach Arthur so well. Ivan on the other hand. He has the ability to control and read minds as long as complete eye contact is made. It’s terrifying, but he only uses his abilities vhen necessary. That’s vhy he rules this area. And it’s vhy everyone is so afraid of him. He’s actually really sweet to the people he likes.” He laughs quietly and leads them to the center of the city.

“Does he like you?” Lukas asks him quietly.

“Of course! Ve’re old friends!” Vladimir states proudly. “That’s vhy I’m not vorried about being in here.”

Vladimir continues to lead them towards the large building in the center of the city. It's like a dark palace, the windows blacked out and the doors made of onyx and garnet. He brings them to the front gate and easily gets passed the guards with a smile. Everyone in the palace knows of the vampire with one fang. He lost his other one fighting side by side with Ivan himself after all.

“Stay close to me, ok?” Vladimir tells them all as he makes his way to where he remembers Ivan’s favorite room bring. “No one here knows who you are. Even if they did...Crusniks aren’t usually our favorite species.” He chuckles to himself continues down to the liquor room.

“Why don’t vampires like us?” Mathias  asks Lukas in in a loud whisper.

“How am I supposed to remember? I had my entire memory wiped. You remember being powerful. You tell me,” Lukas grumbles back.

“I thought Roderich already explained this to you,” Arthur mutters. “You both are vampires that feed on other vampires. It’s pretty terrifying actually.”

“Don’t be mean about it, Arthur,” (y/n) chastises him softly. “You saw how powerful Lukas is. It was amazing, not terrifying.”

Arthur grumbles to himself for a bit. He wasn’t as sure as (y/n) when it came to Lukas. She hadn’t doubted for a second that he wouldn’t have hurt her, but Arthur has always been cynical. He can’t place his faith in a stranger like Lukas. He’s dragged them away from what should have been their haven. It’s because of Lukas that they’ve been in life-threatening situations more than once. Why does (y/n) like him so much?

“Lukas is always terrifying,” Mathias mutters as he slings his arm around his fellow Crusnik.

“Touch me again and I’ll choke you until your face turns blue,” Lukas spits as he pulls away from Mathias.

“See?” Mathias says as he backs away. “I’m terrified.”

(y/n) chuckles and messes with Mathias’ magical hair. She doesn’t notice him glaring at her as she follows Vladimir into a large room. Why would she notice? The only one who does notice the glare is Lukas, who has a glare of his own that is far more powerful. He pushed Mathias into the room, not really caring about the monster that is supposed to be inside.

Four of the five stand perfectly still as an eerie gaze falls upon them. Vladimir smiles widely at his old friend, revealing his missing tooth.

“It’s rude to be the intruding like that, Vlad, da?” Ivan’s smooth voice calls out. It lingers in their ears, making Arthur rather nervous. “You didn’t even tell me that you were being alive...let alone that you were coming to visit me.”

“I vanted to surprise you,” Vladimir replies as he approaches his fellow vampire without a second thought. “How long have you been king now?”

“How long have you been being ‘dead?’” Ivan replies. He peers over at the humans and smirks. But then he catches the scent of the other two. “Why have you brought those things in here?” he asks Vladimir angrily. “Those...monsters.”
It's been almost a month! I'm so ashamed! Good news though! I intend to introduce a third Crusnik in either the next chapter or the one after that :)

Ok, I don't know which one is making me more worried
1) Ivan being angry at first encounter
or
2) Matthias is glaring

I really can't decide
